Cashback
Sterling Order Management System Software allows customers to receive cash back when purchasing goods in a store using an alternate payment method, such as debit card or a check.
The total amount of the transaction, which includes the cost of the purchased goods and the amount of the cash received, is debited from the customer’s account. Cashback is not part of the order total; however, the cashback amount is included in the total amount required from the customer.
Cashback is configured using these options:
- A cashback limit can be set for each payment type and payment card type. The cashback limit determines the amount of cash that can be withdrawn in a single transaction using the specified payment type or payment card type. Cashback amounts on a payment method cannot exceed the cashback limit.
- Maximum charge limits should be configured to include the cashback amount.
Cashback is not typically eligible for refunds or exchanges. However, if a customer changes his mind about wanting cashback or the order is voided, the cashier can set the cashback amount to 0 so that the customer can return the cash.
