Set entity locking level

Multiple designated users can work on a Change Project simultaneously, however, a user can work only on one Change Request at a time. In such a scenario, changes being made to a Change Request for a Change Project is locked so that other users cannot override the changes for the same project. To support entity locking, the changes are stored in the YFS_ENTITY_CHANGE record. By default, the entities are locked at the Change Request level for a Change Project. Parent entity locking is used to lock records. A Locking entity is defined in the entity XML files for each entity. The entity lock level can be set at either Change Request or Change Project level.

  • To set the entity locking level, perform the following steps:
    1. From the tree in the application rules side panel, select Change Project Management ->Change Project Rules.
    2. The Change Project Rules screen is displayed.
    3. Select the level at which the changes must be locked from the Level At Which Changes Should Be Locked drop-down list.
    4. Click save.
