Description of the Inventory information section
Important:
- The segmentation capability is available only for IBM® Sterling Order Management System Software and IBM Sterling Global Inventory Visibility users.
- The segmentation capability is not available when using IBM Sterling Order Management System Software and IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility.
- The segmentation capability is not available when using only IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Segment | Segment of the item. A segment holds either the specific buyer or specific order number that requires dedication. |
| Segment type | Segment type of the item. A segment type indicates an inventory category. For example, MTC - Made To Customer or MTO - Made to Order. |
