Test a customer entitlement
You can test if an associated customer can access items in a customer entitlement.
About this task
To test if a customer can access an item:
Procedure
- Navigate to the Customer
Verification screen. To navigate to the Customer Verification screen,
perform the following steps:
- Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Item Administrator.
- The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
- From the Products home page,
click Test Entitlement Setup from the Catalog dashlet.
The Customer Verification screen is displayed.
- From the Customer Verification screen, perform
the following steps:
- Click the Search icon adjacent to the Customer ID* box.
- The Customer Search dialog box is displayed.
Perform any of the following steps that is applicable to search for
a customer:
i. In the E-mail Starts With text box, enter either the complete or partial E-mail ID of the customer.
ii. In the Last Name text box, enter the customer's last name.
iii. In the Day Phone # text box, enter the customer's day phone number. Ensure that you do not enter space or special characters when entering the phone number. Otherwise, customers matching the search criteria are not displayed in the Customer List panel.
iv. In the First Name text box, enter the customer's first name.
v. In the Customer ID text box, enter the unique identifier of the customer.
vi. In the Zip Code text box, enter the zip code of the city to which the customer belongs.
vii. Click Search.
viii. The ID and name of the customers matching the search criteria are displayed in the Customer List panel. Select the check box adjacent to the Customer ID corresponding to the customer for which you want to test entitlements.
ix. Click Save.
- The selected Customer ID is displayed in the Customer ID* text box.
- In the Item ID* text box, click
.
- The Item Search dialog box is displayed.
Perform the following steps:
i. Enter the search criteria, and click Search.
ii. In the Items panel that is displayed, select the item that you want to test.
iii. Click Select.
- The selected Item ID is displayed in the Item ID* text box.
- Click Test.
Note: * indicates that the field is mandatory.
The “The customer <Customer ID> is entitled to the item <Item ID>.” message is displayed if the customer has access to the items based on the entitlements that have been set up. Otherwise, the “The customer <Customer ID> is not entitled to the item <Item ID>.” message is displayed.
