Search for a change project

The Change Project Search screen enables you to search for all the available Change Projects created for an enterprise.

About this task

You can use either the basic search or the advanced search to search for Change Projects. The basic search screen provides a minimum set of search criteria such as Change Project ID, short description, enterprise code, and Change Project status. The Advanced search provides more flexibility in defining or narrowing down your search. You can add or remove search criteria as required.

Basic search

About this task

Basic search is the default search.

To search for Change Projects using the basic search:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Enterprise Administrator or a user with Change Project permissions.
  2. The application home page is displayed. In the My Change Projects dashlet, click Change Project Search.
  3. The Change Project Search screen is displayed. The basic search screen is displayed, by default.
  4. Specify the following:
    1. In the Change Project ID box, enter the Change Project ID if known.
    2. In the Short Description box, enter the short description of the Change Project.
    3. Select the enterprise that the Change Project belongs to from the Enterprise Code drop-down list.
    4. Select the status of the Change Project from the Status drop-down list.
    5. You can sort the search result display by selecting the required option from the Order By drop-down list. You can sort either in the ascending or descending order on the Change project ID or Short Description. Alternatively, use the column sort (ascending or descending) in the displayed search results.
    6. Click Search.
    7. A list of Change Projects that meet the search criteria is displayed.
    8. If you do not specify any search criteria, all the available Change Projects in the system are displayed.
    9. The results are paginated. Use the arrow keys to navigate between pages.
    10. You can control the number of search results to be displayed in a page by selecting a number from the Results per page drop-down list.

Advanced search

About this task

The advanced search allows you to specify your own criteria as needed to search for specific Change Projects.

To search for Change Projects using the advanced search:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Enterprise Administrator or a user with Change Project permissions.
  2. The application home page is displayed. In the My Change Projects dashlet, click Change Project Search.
  3. The Change Project Search screen is displayed. The basic search screen is displayed, by default.
  4. Click Advanced Search.
  5. The Advanced Change Project Search screen is displayed.
  6. Select the options from the default drop-down lists that are provided:
    1. Select an option from the Select Criteria drop-down list.
    2. Select an operator from the Operator drop-down list. The available options are "contains", "is", and "starts with". Use "contains" if you are not sure of the complete information. Use the option, "is" when you know the exact information. Use "starts with" to specify initial characters of the selected criteria.
    3. When you select User ID, approver or user group as a search option, a search icon is provided. You can search for users and then add them as criteria for the Change Project search.
    4. To add more search criteria, click Add More Criteria.
    5. To delete search criteria, click the "X" icon next to the drop-down lists.
    6. You can sort the search result display by selecting the required option from the Order By drop-down list. You can sort either in the ascending or descending order on the Project ID or Short Description. Alternatively, use the column sort (ascending or descending) in the displayed search results.
    7. Click Search.
    8. A list of Change Projects that meet the search criteria is displayed.
    9. If you do not specify any search criteria, all the available Change Projects in the system are displayed.
    10. The results are paginated. Use the arrow keys to navigate between pages.
