Modify a service's instruction

You can choose to modify an instruction description, or the modify the instruction type from either manual text to a predefined set of instruction or from a predefined set of instruction to a manual text.

About this task

You can modify an instruction from the Service Instructions screen.

1. Navigate to the Service Instructions screen. To navigate to the Service Instructions screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Item Administrator.
   2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
   3. From the Products home page, click Find Service in the Catalog dashlet.
   4. In the Service Search screen, click Search to view a list of all the available services. Alternatively, use either the Basic Search or the Advanced Search option to narrow down the list of services displayed.
   5. In the Services panel that is displayed, click the Service ID hyperlink.
   6. The Primary Information screen is displayed. In the Related Tasks panel, click Manage Instructions.

      The Service Instructions screen is displayed.

2. From the Manage Instructions for type drop-down list, select an instruction type to view all the instructions pertaining to the selected instruction type. The list displays all the configured service instruction types.
3. In the Instructions panel of the Service Instructions screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Select the instruction row that you want to modify.

      The Details area is populated with the details of the selected instruction.

   2. In the Details area, make the necessary modifications.
4. Click Save in the Service Instructions screen.

   The services instruction is modified.
