Modify the configuration of a preconfigured item

You can modify the configuration of a preconfigured item. For example, if a home theater system is available with 1000 W speakers, and you want to change the configuration to 2000 W speakers, you can modify the configuration of the speakers.

1. Navigate to the Components screen. To navigate to the Components screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an Item Administrator.
   2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
   3. From the Products home page, click Find Item in the Catalog dashlet.
   4. From the Item Search screen that is displayed, enter the search criteria, and then click Search to view a list of all the available items. Alternatively, use either the Basic Search or the Advanced Search option to narrow down the list of items displayed.
   5. In the Items panel that is displayed, click the Item ID hyperlink. Alternatively, double-click the row containing the Item ID.
   6. The Primary Information screen is displayed. In the Related Tasks panel, click Manage Components.

      The Components screen is displayed.

2. The Components panel is displayed, with the list of preconfigured items for the physical kit or bundle item. Click Update Configuration.
3. The Sterling Omni-Configurator dialog box is displayed with the details of the preconfigured items. Modify the configuration of the preconfigured items by selecting the items with the appropriate configurations, and click Save.
4. A message asking you for confirmation is displayed. Click Yes.

   The selected items are displayed.
