Define master catalog details

A master catalog is a comprehensive list of items belonging to an organization. It is created by default when a catalog organization is created. A master catalog can also be used as an active selling catalog. An active selling catalog represents a category hierarchy that is used by customers.

You can define master catalog details from the Catalog Management screen.

To define master catalog details:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Catalog Management screen. To navigate to the Catalog Management screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Item Administrator.
    2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
    3. From the Products home page, click Browse Maintenance Catalog in the Catalog dashlet.

      The Catalog Management screen is displayed.

  2. Perform the following steps in the Catalog Detail panel:
    1. In the Short Description* box, enter a brief description of the master catalog. This master catalog will be identified by this description in the Catalog Hierarchy tree.
    2. In the Long Description box, enter a detailed description of the master catalog. This detailed description typically contains any additional information about the master catalog.
  3. In the Catalog Management screen, click Save.

    Note: * indicates that the field is mandatory.
