You can assign an alternative item that is of a higher value as compared to the original
item. Such an alternative item is called an up-sell item.
About this task
For example, in the inventory you may have books with
two binding types: hard bound and book bound. When you create a catalog
item for the book with book bound type of binding, you can associate
the hard-bound book, which is more expensive, as an up-sell item.
When the customer orders the book of book-bound type, you can notify
the customer about the hard-bound book.
You can
associate an up-sell item to an item from the Item Associations screen.
