You can assign items to a classification in order to classify the items in the
corresponding catalog from the Classification Management screen.
About this task
To assign an item to a classification:
Procedure
- Navigate to the Classification
List screen. To navigate to the Classification List screen, perform
the following steps:

Log in to Sterling
Business Center as an Item
Administrator.
- The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
- From the Products home page,
click Manage Classifications in the Catalog dashlet.
The Classification List screen is displayed.
- Click the Classification ID hyperlink
corresponding to the classification to which you want to assign an
item.
- From the Classification Hierarchy tree that
is displayed, select the corresponding classification value.
The Classification Value Details panel
is displayed.
- In the Related Tasks panel,
click Manage Items.
- In the Items panel
that is displayed, click Add.
- The Basic Item Search dialog box is displayed.
Perform the following steps:
- Enter the search criteria.
- Click Search.
- The Items panel
containing the list of items with the corresponding classification
values is displayed. Select the check box adjacent the item you want
to assign to the classification.
- Click Select.
If the selected item has already been assigned to a classification
value, the new classification value overrides the earlier value.
The item is assigned to the classification.
