Add an instruction from existing instruction codes to a service

You can choose to use the predefined set of instruction codes for a service. For example, you may have a preexisting Handle With Care item instruction code that you can associate with fragile items.

About this task

You can add an instruction from existing instruction codes from the Service Instructions screen.

To add an instruction from existing instruction codes to a service:

1. Navigate to the Service Instructions screen. To navigate to the Service Instructions screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Item Administrator.
   2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
   3. From the Products home page, click Find Service in the Catalog dashlet.
   4. In the Service Search screen, click Search to view a list of all the available services. Alternatively, use either the Basic Search or the Advanced Search option to narrow down the list of services displayed.
   5. In the Services panel that is displayed, click the Service ID hyperlink.
   6. The Primary Information screen is displayed. In the Related Tasks panel, click Manage Instructions.

      The Service Instructions screen is displayed.

2. From the Manage instructions for type drop-down list, select an instruction type to view all the instructions pertaining to the selected instruction type. The list displays all the configured service instruction types.
3. In the Instructions panel of the Service Instructions screen, perform the following steps:
   1. Click Add.
   2. The New Instruction dialog box is displayed. In the Details area, select the Use existing instruction code radio button.
   3. From the Instruction Code drop-down list, select the applicable instruction code.
   4. Click Save.
4. Click Save in the Service Instructions screen.

   The instruction from the existing instruction codes is added to the service.
