IBM® Sterling™ Order Management System containers provide a consistent and scalable foundation for deploying containerized applications on leading Kubernetes-based platforms. IBM Sterling Order Management System Software is architected to run on standard Kubernetes distributions and can be deployed on a range of Kubernetes platforms. Deployment is facilitated through the Sterling Order Management System Operator. The goal is to ensure consistency, flexibility, and freedom of choice across all major Kubernetes-based environments.

One such Kubernetes platform is Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform, and other Kubernetes platforms of your choice can also be used, offering platform flexibility and interoperability. This capability ensures that you can choose the infrastructure that best aligns with your operational and strategic needs. You can deploy the base software as an onsite solution within your firewall or onto the hosted infrastructure or other Kubernetes platforms of choice. These curated deployment patterns and supporting tools enable a smoother operational experience across supported orchestration platforms.

You can install Sterling Order Management System Software in a test environment, configure it to your business needs, and later promote it to production.

The software requires a tiered environment consisting of application server, web server, and database components. As the product includes multiple solutions, deployment planning should consider performance needs, high availability requirements, security architecture, and licensing agreements. Depending on the licensing agreement, you can install other applications on top of the Sterling Order Management System Software.
