Installation directory permissions and considerations

If installing in a Windows environment, read the following points to help you plan your installation.

  • You cannot install Sterling™ Order Management System Software software as an administrator because this would cause folders that are created by the installation to be inaccessible to anyone but the administrator.
  • Ensure that the directory into which you are installing is empty.
  • The silent installation creates an <INSTALL_DIR> folder. Subdirectories are installed directly under it.
  • The drive must have adequate free disk space.
Note: It is recommended that you have an approximate disk space of 15GB for the installation.
  • The name of the directory is case-sensitive.
