Creating a department

You can create a department.

About this task

To create a department:

Procedure

  1. Open the Applications Manager and select the application that you want.
  2. In the Organization Details window, choose the Departments tab. The Department List displays.
  3. From the Department List, select the Create New icon. The Department Details pop-up window displays.
  4. Enter information in the applicable fields. Refer to the Results for field value descriptions.
  5. Choose the Save icon.

Field
Description
Department Code
A unique code to identify the department.
Note: The department code should not have spaces.
Department Name
Name of the department.
Department Abbreviation
Abbreviation of the department name.
Queue
Select the default alert queue for the department to which the exceptions are routed. The list contains only those alert queues which are configured on the departments organization. For more information about creating alert queues, see, Configuring alert queues .
Email Id
Enter the email id for the department.
