Synchronization overview
In a deployment model in which remote systems communicate with a corporate server network, outages might occur. To ensure that remote systems are not impacted during outages, Sterling Order Management System Software provides a data synchronization feature that synchronizes the required configuration and master data from one environment to another.
During a network outage, a store’s system disconnects from the corporate server causing interruption to the normal operation of the store. To avoid such issues and to complete a transaction, each store maintains a backup system that continues to process the orders in offline mode. The configuration data in the offline server is kept in sync with the data available in the corporate server. As soon as a network outage is reported, the store’s system connects to the offline server for creating and updating orders.
