An introduction to attribute value of an item attribute

An attribute defines an item's characteristic or specification. All the attributes that are associated with an item are displayed on the Item Attributes screen, with each of the attribute group displayed as a panel, and all the attributes belonging to a particular attribute group displayed within that panel.

You can assign a value to an item attribute. Each attribute is associated with a particular data type. The available data types for an attribute are described in the following table:

Data type Description
Text A free- formed text or a list of values from which you can select one or more.
Number It can be any number, an integer, a floating value, and so on. A number can be associated with a postfix. For example, the Screen Size attribute can have a value of 26 inches. The numeral 26 is the number attribute value, and inches is the postfix. The postfix is always displayed next to the text box in which the value is displayed.
Boolean The valid values are either True/False or Yes/No. Usually, these data types are displayed as a radio button.

You can assign an attribute value to an item attribute from the Item Attributes screen.
