Scheduling or unscheduling orders

You can schedule orders in Order Hub by leveraging the scheduling rules that are defined in your order management system.

About this task

Scheduling rules are created to determine shipping, inventory scheduling, and node preferences. You can have one scheduling rule for all orders or you can associate a specific scheduling rule with an order based on your business requirements. For more information about creating scheduling rules, see Defining scheduling rules Defining scheduling rules.
Notes:
  • You can only schedule or unscheduled orders that are in a status where you are allowed to modify the order. For example, you can schedule orders that are not yet in scheduled, released, or shipped status.
  • An order can be released only after it is scheduled.
  • Orders are assigned to specific scheduled ship nodes only if the nodes have enough inventory to process the order.
  • If a scheduling rule is not assigned while scheduling orders, the default scheduling rule, Default Scheduling Rule ID, is assigned.
  • You can schedule multiple orders in one go.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. Click Orders from the menu and search for the order that you need to modify.
  3. Enter search criteria and search for orders.
  4. Select the orders that you want to schedule.
  5. Click Schedule.
If any of the orders that are selected have a status in which it cannot be scheduled, an error message is displayed.

Alternatively, if you are within the order details pages, you can click Actions > Schedule.

  6. In the Schedule order window, select a scheduling rule from the list of rules that are defined in your order management system. If no rule is selected from the Scheduling rule list, the Default Scheduling Rule ID scheduling rule is assigned.
  7. If you want the schedule process to release the orders by overriding the release date criterion defined in the selected scheduling rule, select Ignore release date.
  8. If you want to release the orders automatically to the scheduled node or nodes immediately after it is scheduled, select Schedule and release. If you do not select Schedule and release, you can manually release the order later by using the Release action.
  9. If you want to override the minimum number of business hours it takes to ship an order once it is scheduled to the node as defined in the selected scheduling rule, select Ignore minimum notification time.
  10. Click Schedule.
A confirmation message is displayed and the status of the order also changes. The node to which the orders are assigned are also displayed.
  11. If you want to unschedule an order, you can unschedule orders from various places.
    • From the Order search results page, select the checkboxes next to the orders and click Unschedule.
    • From the Order details page, click Actions > Unschedule.
The status of the orders changes to unscheduled. The nodes to which the scheduled orders are assigned are displayed as well.
  12. Some actions might take longer than others to complete. To view the most updated information, you can click the table refresh button (image) on the Order summary page.

When an order or order line is on hold, there is an icon (Holds icon) to indicate the hold. The icon is shown on the order details summary panel for orders on hold, or the order line details summary panel and order details order lines table for order lines on hold.
