Upgrading OpenPages

Before you begin

About this task

Use the installation server to upgrade OpenPages.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the OpenPages installation app.
    For more information, see Logging in to the installation app.
  2. Open the deployment that you want to upgrade.
    If your deployment is already open, refresh the page.
  3. Click the Deployment Task list and select Upgrade, and then select the version that you want to install.

    If Upgrade is not displayed in the Deployment Task list, click Validate.

  4. Click the Database Server card.
  5. Click Install Database and select one of the following options:
    • Full Database: Select this option if the database is not updated yet. The installation app will apply the fix pack to the database.
    • Already Installed: Select this option if the database is already updated.

    For fix packs, the Only Non-DBA and Already Installed options are equivalent.

  6. If you chose Full Database, type the DBA Username and the DBA Password.

    The user that you specify must have both DBADM and SECADM authorities.

  7. On the Report Server card, review the Java Home field. Ensure that it is set to the IBM Java™ JRE that is supplied with Cognos
    For example:
    • On Windows: C:\IBM\cognos\analytics\ibm-jre\jre
    • On Linux®: /usr/IBM/cognos/analytics/ibm-jre/jre
  8. On each application server card, verify that Java Home Directory is set to the IBM Semeru Runtimes that you installed on the application server.
  9. Click Validate.
  10. Click Install.
    Tip: You can log out and close the browser window. The Install process continues to run. When you log in to the installation app again, the app shows the status of your deployment. You can also close the browser window during the Configure process.
  11. Click Configure.
