Translating values in text fields

You can translate values in text fields to the language associated with your locale by using the Auto Translate button.

In a Task View, click Auto Translate button. Values in text fields are translated to the language associated to their locale. For each field that is translated, you can toggle between the languages by clicking View Original and View Translation. Click the Info icon to view a confidence score. Click Auto Translate button again to turn off translated values.

  • Text field values (simple strings, long strings, and rich text) are translated. Enumerated field values are not translated.
  • There is no differentiation between US and UK English.
  • Translated values on a Task View cannot be edited.
  • They are not saved to the object.

Example 1

Your locale is set to US English. You view regulatory change objects in a Task View.

  • First, you view a regulatory change object that came from a French regulatory body. It contains field values in French. You click Auto Translate button. Text field values in French are translated to English.
  • Next, you view a regulatory change object that came from an EU regulatory body. It contains text field values in English, French, and Portuguese. You click the Auto Translate button. The text field values in English remain unchanged. The text field values in French and Portuguese are translated into English.

Your locale is set to Japanese. You view regulatory change objects in a Task View.
  • First, you view a regulatory change object that came from a US regulatory body. It contains field values in English. You click Auto Translate button. Text field values in English are translated into Japanese.
  • Next, you view a regulatory change object that came from an EU regulatory body. It contains field values in English, French, and Portuguese. You click Auto Translate button. Text field values are translated into Japanese.
