Determine your upgrade path

Use this list to determine your options for upgrading IBM OpenPages®.
- If OpenPages isn't installed yet or you want to do a fresh installation
- See the IBM OpenPages Installation and Deployment Guide.
- If your source environment is at version 9.2.x
- You can install fix packs. You can also upgrade or migrate to the latest 9.2.x release.
- Installing fix packs: You can install fix packs to get the latest fixes for a release. For example, if you're currently using 9.2.0, you can install 9.2.0.x fix packs, such as 9.2.0.1. See Fix packs.
- Upgrading: With an upgrade, you install the update on top of your existing
deployment. This method is sometimes called an
in-place upgrade
or anover-the-top upgrade.
See Prepare for the upgrade. - Migrating: You can do a migration upgrade. With a migration upgrade, you do a fresh installation and then migrate files and data. Use this option, for example, if you want to use new hardware. See the IBM OpenPages Installation and Deployment Guide.
- If your source environment is at version 9.0.x or 9.1.x
- You can upgrade or migrate to 9.2.0
or a later 9.2.x release, such as 9.2.1.
- Upgrading: With an upgrade, you install the update on top of your existing
deployment. This method is sometimes called an
in-place upgrade
or anover-the-top upgrade.
