Navigating the UI

The UI is designed to make it simple to navigate.

The UI has a Navigation Bar, work area, and menus.
The UI has the following components:

IBM OpenPages dashboard shortcut
Home page shortcut
Both display the dashboard in the work area. For more information about the dashboard, see Your dashboard.
Primary menu Primary menu icon Opens the Primary menu.

Navigation Bar The Navigation Bar contains Home page shortcut and a tab for each view that you have open.

WalkMe icon Opens WalkMe. WalkMe is a third-party tool that you can use to guide you through OpenPages. WalkMe gives you guided tours, feature overviews, and embedded resources to help you make the most out of yourOpenPages implementation.

Administrators use registry settings to disable or enable WalkMe. The icon WalkMe icon is not displayed in the interface if WalkMe is disabled.

If you click WalkMe icon and WalkMe doesn't start, refresh your browser page.

WalkMe opens in English by default but you can change the language setting.

Notifications menu icon (bell)
Opens the list of notifications.

The list does not include notifications about work you need to complete.

View insights icon Identifies an input field that is required to run a custom machine learning model.

Open Administration menu Settings menu icon (gear) Opens the Administration menu.
User menu icon (person) Opens the User menu.
Start Chat icon Opens a chat bot where you can ask questions that use IBM watsonx Assistant™. The Start Chat button displays only if an assistant is configured and you are allowed to access it.

Search button (magnifying glass)
In a Grid View, you can search for objects in the grid.

In other views, you can search for fields.

Reveal editable fields button In a Task View, you can hover over fields to see which ones are editable. When the edit icon icon is displayed next to a field, you can click the field to put it into edit mode.

If you want to put all fields into edit mode instead of editing one field at a time, click Reveal editable fields button in the toolbar of the view.

This icon and button are hidden in certain situations, such as when the object is locked or you do not have access control permission to edit it.

Print button In a Task View or Report View, prints the view or saves it to a PDF.
Watson Language Translator button In a Task View, values in text fields are translated to the language associated to your locale.

Feedback button Opens a Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey where you can provide product feedback to IBM®. If you are eligible to receive a survey, it is always displayed on the home page. You can provide feedback at any time and as often as you want. You might also periodically be prompted to submit a survey when you log in.

Work area The work area displays your dashboard and views.
List of options icon Contains a list of tabs that you can select. You can also close all tabs.
Configure tabs and panels Opens a menu that is used to configure tabs and panels.

Browser back button Opens the last web page that is stored in the session.
Browser forward button Moves forward in the session history of the web page browser.
