New features in version 9.0.0.5

Version 9.0.0.5 of OpenPages® includes enhancements to task views, questionnaires, and more.

Object commenting

Users can add their comments to objects if they are given permission by their administrator. For example, a user can add a comment on an Issue to ask a question, make an observation, or record their thoughts about the Issue.

For more information, see the Commenting on objects topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

Administrators can delete all comments on an object with an operation on a workflow action.

For more information, see the Defining a workflow action that deletes all object comments topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

Answers populated for questionnaire assessments

To populate the answers to a question with the values of a field, the questionnaire template authors associate the question with that field.

For more information, see the Associating answers to a field topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

To populate the answers in the questionnaire assessment, administrators add the Set questionnaire answers with related field value operation to an action in the Questionnaire Assessment Workflow.

For more information, see the Defining a workflow action that populates answers in a questionnaire assessment topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

OAuth 2.0 authentication supported for OpenPages REST API V1 and V2

You can now configure OAuth2.0 authentication for OpenPages IBM OpenPages REST API V1 and V2 on IBM OpenPages on premises or IBM OpenPages on Cloud.

For more information about configuring OAuth 2.0, see the Security and authentication section of the IBM OpenPages GRC REST API V2 topic in the IBM OpenPages Developer Guide.

Delete objects by using a workflow

Administrators can define workflows to delete objects in the following ways:

  • On an end stage, specify an operation to delete the object that the workflow is processing.

For more information, see the Deleting objects on an end stage topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

  • On an action, specify an operation to delete the children or descendants of the object that the workflow is processing.

For more information, see the Defining a workflow action that deletes objects topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

Translation integration with watsonx.ai

When administrators use the watsonx.ai language translation service, they are able to define the prompt and the context for translation. With this feature, the large language model (LLM) can provide a translation that uses the industry-specific language of the Governance Risk and Compliance domain to provide more contextually appropriate translations.

To set up the watsonx.ai™ language translation service, click Open Administration menu Administration menu > Integrations > OpenPages Translation Services and select watsonx.ai as the Translator Type.

Contextual information can be shared with IBM watsonx Assistant

Through the integration with IBM watsonx Assistant™, OpenPages can share contextual information about the OpenPages user session. With this information, IBM watsonx Assistant knows the type of user that is logged on and where they are in the OpenPages UI. IBM watsonx Assistant can then use the OpenPages API to get more information, or perform actions on behalf of the user. For example, IBM watsonx Assistant can use generative AI to create an Action item for an issue in OpenPages.

The following contextual information is sent at the beginning of a new user session:

  • User Profile Name and User Profile ID
  • User locale
  • URL of the OpenPages instance

The following contextual information is sent during the user session:

  • View Type, such as Grid, Creation, Task, or Admin view
  • Object Type
  • Object ID, which allows the API to retrieve information that is related to the object
  • Workflow actions that are available if the object is in a workflow

Track email activity

Administrators can use a new system tracing option, Email Notification, to capture information about email activity that includes whether email messages are sent successfully.

For more information, see the Gathering logs with the LogCollector user interface topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.

Search for object types in the Primary menu

You can now click the Primary menu Primary menu icon and enter an object type in the Search object type box to find an object type.

For more information about the Primary menu, see the Using the Primary menu topic in the IBM OpenPages User Guide.

Mexican Spanish locale available

Administrators can now add Mexican Spanish as a new locale.

For more information about adding locales, see the Adding locales topic in the IBM OpenPages Administrator's Guide.
