Viewing task times in enhanced display
You can view the task time values for tasks in the active Task display and Task History display based on wait and active times. You can also see a detailed view of the task times to identify where the task spent its time.
The active Task display and Task History display are enhanced so that you can now view the details of the task times in three different views, WAIT, ACTIVE, and DETAILED.
Viewing task times in Task History
To view the data, in the Task History Summary workspace, follow these steps:
- From the All Active CICSplexes workspace, select the CICSplex that you want to examine, by typing S next to the CICSplex.
- Enter O next to a CICS Region. This brings up the CICSplex Task History Summary workspace.
- Enter T next to the task for which you want to view the details. The task time display appears that has different views for the time categories:
- To view the information about the task delays, click the WAIT tab. You can view the time spent by a task for various time categories. In the example given in step 3, task time values are shown for time categories such as Total wait, 1st dispatch delay, QR TCB wait-for-dispatch, and Re-dispatch wait. You can also view the period count that provides information about the number of times the clock was started. It also shows a bar graph that represents the time as a percentage of the response time.
- To view the information related to when the task is dispatched, click the ACTIVE tab. You can view the time spent by a task for different time categories. For example, Elapsed, Dispatch, QR TCB elapsed, CPU on General Purpose, and QR TCB CPU.
- To view the detailed information about the task time values, click the DETAILED tab. You can view the Transaction Timings, CPU Breakdown time, and other transaction timings tracked by OMEGAMON.
Viewing task times for active Tasks
To view the task times for an active task related to a transaction in the enhanced display,
follow these steps:
- From the All Active CICSplexes workspace, select the CICSplex that you want to examine, by typing S next to the CICSplex.
- Press Enter next to the CICS region for which you want to view the active tasks.
- In the CICS Region tab, navigate to the Highest CPU Tasks panel.
- In the Transaction ID column, press Enter next to the transaction task for which you want to view the task times.
- To view the task times, click Timings tab. The task time display appears that has different views for the time categories:
