Viewing Original and Previous Task History data

You can view the original task and previous task history details within the same CICS region and previous hop data from another CICS region. This information helps you to identify the different components of a complex CICS transaction.

About this task

You can view the details of the original and previous task for tasks in the Active Task and Task History displays.
Note: Not all the tasks might have the previous task history data. The previous task history is available only for those transactions that originate from other transactions.

Procedure

  1. From the All Active CICSplexes workspace, select the CICSplex that you want to examine, by typing S next to the CICSplex.
  2. Enter O next to a CICS Region. This brings up the CICSplex Task History Summary workspace.
  3. Press Enter next to the task for which you want to view the previous task details.
    The previous task details are displayed in the Details tab and the Related tab in the Prior task details panel:
    Previous task history
    You can view the original task and previous task details such as Original Task Number, Original Start Time, Original Start Date, Previous Task Number, Previous Task Time, Previous Task Count for the task that is within the same CICS region. For the transactions that are originating from another parent transaction in a different CICS region, you can view information such as Previous Hop Task Number, Previous Hop Count, Previous Hop Start Time.
