Analyzing the OMEGAMON CICSplex configuration

When an OMEGAMON AI for CICS agent detects a CICS® region is online, it searches through the CICSplex classification rules for the first rule that matches attributes of the CICS region.

These are the attributes of the CICS region that are used for matching in CICSplex classification rules:

If the first matching rule exists and has a PLEXNAME value other than OMEGPLEX, then the OMEGAMON AI for CICS agent uses the PLEXNAME value as the CICS region's CICSplex name. Otherwise, the agent uses the CICSplex name that is supplied by CICSPlex® System Manager.

If CICSPlex System Manager is not running, then the agent uses the OMEGPLEX CICSplex name default setting. When an agent uses a particular CICSplex name initially, that CICSplex name becomes known to the agent. If the CICSplex name is not known to any other agents, then the agent registers the CICSplex as an IBM Tivoli Monitoring managed object.
