Dedicated mode

You start an OMEGAMON for CICS (3270) dedicated session on a locally attached terminal.

This mode uses EXCP to ensure availability even if TSO or VTAM® is not responding.

Verify that the terminal you use is not an MVS console or is not allocated to any other job or started task (including VTAM). A dedicated OMEGAMON for CICS (3270) session requires the use of a locally-attached, non-SNA terminal.

Start a dedicated session.

Prepare a member in the rhilev.RKANPAR library that contains an appropriate START command. Use the shipped sample member in the data library as a model.
Enter this MVS MODIFY command:

The OMEGAMON for CICS (3270) job name.

cccccccc

The name of the member in rhilev.RKANPAR library that contains a START command.

The MVS console log indicates that the dedicated session has started. The first screen you see on the dedicated terminal is the OMEGAMON for CICS (3270) copyright screen. The session automatically refreshes itself every few seconds.
