Verifying the configuration for OMEGAMON AI for CICS

Now that you have completed the configuration you can verify that it has been successful.

Initially you can check that the logs generated from the jobs are clean and contain no error messages.

Verification involves:
  • Start these started tasks on your z/OS® system:
    • Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server
    • OMEGAMON AI for CICS
    • OMEGAMON AI for CICS on z/OS monitoring agent

Successful startup is indicated by the messages found in the RKLVLOG output.

  • Start your CICS® regions.
  • Start the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server that you want your agent to connect to. In the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server, that the agent is connecting to, validate that the agent is online by looking for the following message in the monitoring server RKLVLOG output:
    Remote node <agentid:sysid:CPIRA> is ON-LINE
  • Start the OMEGAMON AI for CICS on z/OS monitoring agent started task using the following z/OS operating system command:

  • Start the Tivoli Enterprise Portal verify that you see the list of CICS regions that are associated with the agent in the Physical Navigator view at the top left side of the workspace.
