Installation on Linux
The IBM Z Resource Discovery for ServiceNow can be deployed on Linux using Podman or
Docker. You can review the prerequisites, install, and configure on Docker or Podman depending on
your requirement.
Prerequisite installation for Docker users
If your Linux® system does not have the required versions of Docker and Docker Compose installed, you can use the convenience package prereqs/docker_prereqs-v2.run to install Docker and Docker Compose.
Prerequisite configuration for Docker users
After you install the required versions of Docker and Docker Compose, you must configure Docker and Docker Compose.
Prerequisite installation for Podman users
Depending on your networking backend in use in your Podman installation, you might need to install dnsmasq from your Linux distribution repository.
Prerequisite configuration for Podman users
If you use AppArmor in your Linux environment, you must append some rules to the AppArmor profile and reload the profile.
Installing products
After you complete all the prerequisites installation and configuration, you can load the Z Resource Discovery Data Service, PostgreSQL Kafka Connect and install Z Operational Analytics OCI container images and supporting utilities.
