Realtime Dataset Metrics
With Realtime Dataset Metrics, you can look up for detailed dataset attribute information quickly.
Note: The Realtime Dataset Metrics feature supports 5698-ZWG IBM Z Distribution for Zowe 2.16 with
installed PTFs UO90057 and UO90058 or 5698-ZWH IBM Z Distribution for Zowe 3.0.
The 5698-ZWH IBM Z Distribution for Zowe 3.0 is supported with installed
IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for Storage PTF UJ96869. Zowe version 1.xx is not supported anymore.
Make sure you are using Zowe version 2.16 and later.
Realtime Dataset Metrics overview
Realtime Dataset Metrics is a browser user interface that you can launch from the Dataset Attributes System Summary in the TEP user interface to OMEGAMON® for Storage. The Realtime Dataset Metrics link is displayed in TEP when dataset collection is complete.
The key features of Realtime Dataset Metrics are:
- Summarize by key attributes
- Flexible filtering to quickly build ad-hoc queries
- Quickly choose the columns needed
- Sorting across the entire result set
- Access to all data through on-demand pagination
Launching Realtime Dataset Metrics
To launch RDM, right-click Dataset Attributes System Summary, then select Dataset Metrics.
Tip: You can run Dataset Metrics in Zowe 2.16 after applying PTFs UO90057 and UO90058 or
Zowe 3.0. The 5698-ZWH IBM Z Distribution for Zowe 3.0 is supported with
installed IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for Storage PTF UJ96869.
- Log on to Zowe.
- Log on to RDM for the chosen system.
- Choose or add the RDM services that provide data from TEMS to RDM. You
can use the DNS or IP address where TEMS with completed Dataset
Attribute collection is located, and specify KS3_AS_PROTO as port. You
can also find the port number in the TEMS RKLVLOG by looking for
KS3S0166I KS3SDADW: HTTP SERVER ON PORT
(this message appears after Dataset Attribute collection completion)
With PTF UJ04274, Storage Toolkit functionality is added to Realtime Dataset Metrics. Use the Storage Toolkit the same way, as you do in the TEP:
- Right-click a dataset for available actions. The actions for saved filters are available in the saved filter set modal window.
- To view the results of Storage Toolkit actions, open the Storage Toolkit view in the View By drop-down list, and click Run Query.
