Monitoring Copy Services

This topic describes the workspaces that monitor the status of Copy Services. You access these workspaces through Copy Services node in the Tivoli® Enterprise Portal.

Navigating the workspaces of Copy Services node

This section summarizes the workspace links that are available through the Navigator node. Depending on your monitoring goal, you follow a specific series of links to get detailed information about storage resources. See Workspaces to learn more about navigating from workspace to workspace.

You access the primary workspaces of this node as follows:

Click the node in the Tivoli Enterprise Portal. The node is activated and the first workspace is displayed in the portal.
Right-click the node to display the pop-up menu.
Select the Workspace submenu to see a list of the available linked workspaces. These linked workspaces, in turn, link to many other, related workspaces as shown in Table 1

You start in the z/GlobalMirror (XRC) Sessions workspace to access all the other workspaces that are listed in Table 1. You can access the workspaces in this table using the standard path and method for navigating workspaces.

z/GlobalMirror (XRC) Sessions workspace

This topic describes the main components of the principal workspace for this node.

When you click the Copy Services node in the Navigator of the Tivoli Enterprise Portal, you see the z/GlobalMirror (XRC) Sessions workspace. The main components of the workspace are listed here.

Views

This workspace provides the following view. For a description of the attributes used as column headings in the workspace table view, review the attribute group definitions for this workspace in the online help. The help resource includes attribute descriptions that are displayed when you hover with the mouse pointer over a column heading.

z/GlobalMirror (XRC) Sessions table view

This table contains a single row that summarizes information for the z/GlobalMirror (XRC) Sessions, and contains the following attributes. Notice that many of these same attributes are shown on the linked-to Summary workspaces described below. In those cases the attribute values are relative to the specific object that you are summarizing (for example, a location, an owner, a creating job, and so on).

The session name.
The HLQ.
The storage subsystem ID associated with the specified storage control session.
The serial Number.
The license level of the storage array.
The logical storage subsystem ID.
The last record processed time.
The state.
The utility volume config.
The configured timeout in milliseconds.
The session number within the storage array.
The total volume pairs.
The duplex volume pairs.
The copying volume pairs.
The volume pair that XRC has not yet synchronized or resynchronized.
The volume pair that contains non-timestamped writes.
The established volume pair in an XRC session where XRC is no longer copying data from the primary volume to the secondary volume.
The volume pair remains in the XRC session.
The fix utility enabled.
The device block enabled.
The write pacing enabled.
The suspend on long busy pending.
The enhanced reader support enabled.
The incremental resync enabled.
