Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace
The Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace displays errors, statistics, configuration and status data for all interfaces across the enterprise. This workspace is designed to work with IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks V5.1.0 agents and later. Monitoring agents running with earlier versions of IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks will not display data in this workspace. The attributes in this workspace are available from all supported versions of z/OS.
Long-term history is not displayed in the Enterprise Network workspaces. The queries in the Enterprise Networks workspaces use clauses that are not supported by Tivoli Data Warehouse. You can view long-term history for the same attribute groups from workspaces accessed from the physical navigator.
The Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace requires that an administrator has assigned the Tivoli Enterprise Portal user access to the Enterprise Networks navigator view using the Administer Users dialog. See the IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks Tivoli Enterprise Portal User’s Guide for information about assigning this role. If you do not have access, contact your system administrator.
To display the Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace, do the following:
- Select Enterprise_Networks from the View drop-down menu in the Navigator view.
- Select the Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace from the Enterprise Networks Navigator view.
- Click the Link icon in this row and select the Enterprise Interfaces Overview workspace.
- Enterprise Network Navigation: Provides quick access to all enterprise-level workspaces. See Figure 4 for more information.
- Interface Status Counts: Displays a count of the number of interfaces of each unique interface status type. The information is presented in a bar graph.
- Interface Status table:
Displays status and configuration related attributes for interfaces
across the enterprise. Each row in this table links to the following
workspaces:
- Data Link Control (DLC) Read and Write Queue Statistics workspace.
This link is conditional based on the value of Interface Status!=
Not_Active and one of the following Interface Type values:
- 2 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSD
- 3 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSM
- 4 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSX
- 5 = Hipersocket
- Interface Statistics workspace.
This link is conditional based on value of Interface Type being
a strategic interface, one of the following:
- 1 = Loopback
- 2 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSD
- 3 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSM
- 4 = OSA_QDIO_ethernet_OSX
- 5 = Hipersocket
- 6 = MPC_ptp
- 7 = MPC_ptp_samehost
- 8 = MPC_ptp_xcf
- Interface Status workspace (default)
- Data Link Control (DLC) Read and Write Queue Statistics workspace.
This link is conditional based on the value of Interface Status!=
Not_Active and one of the following Interface Type values:
- Interface Errors > 0: Displays interfaces across the enterprise
where either the Percent Packets in Error is greater than zero OR
the Percent Packets Discarded is greater than zero. The information
is presented in a bar graph, where:
- Yellow represents Percent Packets in Error.
- Blue represents Percent Packets Discarded.
- Interface Errors table:
Displays error condition attributes for interfaces across the enterprise.
Each row in this table links to the following workspaces:

Not_Active and one of the following Interface Type values:
- Bandwidth Utilization > 0: Displays interfaces across the
enterprise where either the Transmit Bandwidth Utilization is greater
than zero OR the Receive Bandwidth Utilization is greater than zero.
The information is presented in a bar graph, where:
- Yellow represents Transmit Bandwidth Utilization.
- Blue represents Receive Bandwidth Utilization.
- Interface Statistics table:
Displays a subset of the throughput and performance attributes for
interfaces across the enterprise. Each row in this table links to
the following workspaces:
- Data Link Control (DLC) Read and Write Queue Statistics workspace.
