No zCX networking data available from DVIPA workspaces
z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) networking data is available under the DVIPA Enterprise Overview in the e3270UI or from the DVIPA workspace in the TEP only if a zCX instance is associated with the Dynamic Virtual IP Address.
Whether or not zCX networking data is available is indicated by a YES for the zCX column in the
summary display. It is possible that you might not see any zCX networking data when navigating to
the zCX Instance Summary, even when the zCX column is YES. Here are some of the more common reasons
why this may be the case:
- You are not running IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS®.
- The data for the zCX Networking monitoring is gathered from IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS®. If IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® is not running, you may see messages in
the e3270UI workspace indicating that either
ODI query MSYSCFG
orZCXINST
was not found, or aKFWITM217E Request error: SQL1_CreateRequest failed, rc=202
message in the TEP workspace. To see zCX networking data, you must be running IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® with APAR OA63270 installed on the LPAR(s) running IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks.
- The zCX instance associated with the Dynamic Virtual IP Address does not have the cAdvisor container installed and running.
- The zCX monitoring support in IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS® requires that the cAdvisor container be installed and running in the zCX instance. See the IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for z/OS®: Planning and Configuration Guide for the details of Enabling the z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) monitoring.
