Take Action Commands

The IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks Take Action feature causes IP commands to be issued by the Tivoli IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks monitoring agent to the IBM z/OS^(R) Communications Server located on the same z/OS system. The following predefined commands are supported :

• Drop Connection. See DROP command.
• NSLookup IP address. See NSLOOKUP command.
• Ping IP Address. See PING command.
• Tracerte IP Address. See TRACERTE command.

When invoked interactively by a Tivoli Enterprise Portal operator, the results of these Take Action commands are returned to the IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks Take Action Command Dialog, as well as the Command Log workspace. Take Action commands can be issued by right-clicking on a workspace that supports the command, or by using the Take Action dialog accessed from the Tivoli Enterprise Portal toolbar.

These predefined Take Action commands may also be incorporated into situations to be executed automatically when the situation opens. The results of Take Action commands executed by situations may be viewed in the Command Log workspace.
