Coexistence considerations

If you are installing IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks 6.1 with existing installations of 5.5 or 5.6, you must plan for some coexistence considerations.

To install IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks 6.1:

1. Choose your installation path. You can:
   • Upgrade in the same SMP/E CSI zone and install over the top of your existing installation.
   • Upgrade a "clean" installation in a new SMP/E CSI zone. Install a new sys, new infrastructure, separate hubs, TOMs, and TEPs
2. Back up your environments.
3. Take your libraries down.
4. Perform an SMP/E installation.
5. Install the Hub.
6. Set up 6.1 installation (HTEMS, TOM, TEP) separate from the existing 5.5 or 5.6 HTEMS and TOM.
7. Migrate LPAR by LPAR from 5.5 or 5.6 to 6.1
8. Migrate a SYSPLEX at a time from 5.5 or 5.6 to 6.1.
