Providing new agent-specific configuration values
To support NetView packet trace, complete this configuration step using PARMGEN or the Configuration Tool.
In this step, provide information to create the dynamic
link to NetView for z/OS® values. This information consists
of two parameters:
- NetView APPLID: the NetView for z/OS APPLID that the
IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks monitoring agent will
dynamically log on to. The NetView specified must run on
the same system as the IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks
monitoring agent. PARMGEN or the Configuration Tool generates the
KN3_DLX_APPLID
parameter in the KN3ENV member of the &rhilev.&midlev.RKANPARU library. The default is CNM01. The field is a character string with a maximum length of 8. - User data: the data passed to the NetView for z/OS program
during logon. PARMGEN or the Configuration Tool generates the
KN3_DLX_USERDATA
parameter in the KN3ENV member of the &rhilev.&midlev.RKANPARU library. If no user data is specified, the default is a null string. This option may be used to specify the NetView OPERATOR ID and PASSWORD in NetView for z/OS if the LOGONPW option is enabled in NetView. The field is a character string whose largest length is 109 characters in the format userid/password. This is an optional field. However, if you provide an operator ID in this field, the NetView operator ID you provide should not be configured to be a receiver of unsolicited messages.
Using PARMGEN
Provide the correct values
indicated for the following PARMGEN parameters enable the NetView packet trace functions:
KN3_DLX_APPLID
KN3_DLX_USERDATA
For more information about these parameters, see IBM® Z OMEGAMON® AI for Networks: Parameter Reference.. For information about using PARMGEN, see IBM® Tivoli® OMEGAMON and Tivoli Management Services on z/OS PARMGEN Reference.
Using the Configuration Tool
Provide the
correct values in the Configuration Tool panel shown in Figure 1:
