IMS Commander workspace
The IMS Commander workspaces (KIPILOG and KIPILOGS) display all IMS commands, command responses, messages plus console messages from IMS control region address spaces.
The ILOG mode (KIPILOG) displays up to 10,000 lines in the console output subpanel and you can filter the output data by time range, message type, specific word, and so on.
The SDSF mode (KIPILOGS) has been enhanced to display more than 10,000 lines by pressing the PF8 key. Filtering is not available.
The following functions are available in both modes:
- Console to enter IMS type 1 and type 2 commands, but only to an IMS within an IMSplex, and only if you have the authority to issue these commands.
- Console to view IMS MTO and WTO messages issued in the IMS control region address spaces (CTL, DLI, DBRC, and IRLM).
- TOP, BOTTOM, and FIND commands on the workspace command line and PF5 key to search specific words in the console output subpanel.
- Message Trap definitions to highlight or suppress specific messages. For more information, see "Enabling the IMS Commander Message Trap" in the IBM OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS: Planning and Configuration Guide.
- Archival of the console output messages to a data set. For the configuration, see "IMS Commander Archival parameters" in the IBM OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS: Parameter Reference.
Subpanels
The IMS Commander workspaces contain the command console and output.
Note: The IMS Commands workspace (KIPCMD) has been replaced
with the IMS Commander workspace (KIPILOG). The older workspace can be navigated
by entering =KIPCMD on the command line of the enhanced 3270
user interface.
