Specifying agent IP.* and IP6.* communication values

If the agent requires IP.PIPE support, you specify the IP.* and IP6.* communication values in PARMGEN.

Procedure

Note: The Configuration Tool is no longer available. You use PARMGEN to specify the settings. See Updating agent and Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server protocols.

  1. If the agent requires IP.PIPE support, specify the values on the Specify Agent IP.PIPE Configuration Values panel as shown in the following table.

    TCP communication values for agent
    Host name
    The TCP/IP host name of the computer where the agent is located.
    Address
    The TCP/IP address of the computer where the agent is located.
    Started Task
    The TCP/IP address of the computer where the agent is located.
    Agent IP.PIPE configuration
    Address translation
    Indicates whether your site uses address translation when communication is across a firewall.
    Partition name
    The name space in which the agent is located. (This partition name must also be defined on the monitoring server to which you connect.)
  2. Press Enter to accept the IP.PIPE communication values.
