Configuring the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface

You can specify the initial workspace that displays when you log on to the OMEGAMON® enhanced 3270 user interface by configuring the FIRSTWS parameter value in your interface profile member in the RKOBPROF data set of the enhanced 3270 user interface address space.

About this task

The following are the types of interface profiles in the RKOBPROF data set of the enhanced 3270 user interface address space:

  • User profile – the member name matches the user ID that is used to log on to the interface
  • Site-defined profile – the member name is CUASITE
  • IBM-provided profile – member name is KOBCUA

The OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface searches the data sets in the RKOBPROF DD statement for a user profile and then searches for a site profile, that is, member CUASITE. If neither is found, the IBM-provided profile is used, that is, member KOBCUA. The FIRSTWS value in the selected profile determines the first workspace that displays for OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS®.

Procedure

  1. Set the FIRSTWS parameter to be the first workspace that you want to display.
    For OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS, the FIRSTWS value can be one of the following values:
    FIRSTWS=KOBSTART
    Contains a single subpanel for each installed OMEGAMON product. For the OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS product, a monitored systems list is displayed containing a single row for each IMS system.
    FIRSTWS=KIPSTART
    Contains two subpanels. The first subpanel displays a single row for each monitored IMSplex system and contains statistics that show the overall health of the IMSplex system. In addition to health information, the second subpanel displays a row for each IMS that is not part of an IMSplex.
    FIRSTWS=KIPMONS
    Contains a single subpanel that displays one row for each monitored IMS system.
  2. Enter one of three alias commands in the action bar line of any workspace, that is, the input field on the top line.
    ICMD
    Goes to the IMS command workspace where you can enter an IMS command and receive the response.
    ISUM
    Goes to the KIPSTART workspace.
    IMON
    Goes to the KIPMONS workspace.
