Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server installation fails
If you see this error message display during the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server installation
on Windows: BuildPresentation failed:
Refer to the Troubleshooting guide for troubleshooting help. After
correcting the reason for failure, rerun BuildPresentation.bat from
the CNPS directory and restart TEPS.
, complete the following
steps to fix the failure.
Procedure
- Open .
- Click the System DSN tab.
- Remove any entries named teps, TEPS2, cnps, or CNPS2.
- In the ITM\InstallITM directory, run the utility named CNPSDataSource.exe and supply the requested IDs and passwords.
- If the utility program fails with an error, read the log file named TEPS_ODBC.log in the same directory and correct the problem.
- Click
regedit.exe
. and type - Go to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Candle\KFW\CNPS\KFWSRV\Environment.
- Look for the key named KFW_DSN. Verify that the key value is "cnps". If not, change the key value to "cnps". (Do not include the quotation marks.)
- Open a command prompt window and go to the ITM\CNPS directory.
- Run the batch file BuildPresentation.bat.
