Reference: OMEGAMON security decisions
The following topics include information about securing the OMEGAMON® for IMS on z/OS® and the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface. References to OMEGAMON for IMS Classic in the following topics are to the Realtime Monitor, unless otherwise specified.
The security options that you decide to employ can determine tasks that you must complete in advance, such as arrangements to make with security administrators or accounts to set up. Your security decisions can also determine your subsequent choices during configuration, such as the selection of secure protocols when you configure communication between components.
Tivoli® Management
Services and the
OMEGAMON monitoring agents provide several
security options:
- Secure communication between components
- Authorization and authentication of Tivoli Enterprise Portal users that includes single sign-on capability
- Authentication of all 3270-based interface users: OMEGAMON and the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface
- Authentication of SOAP server users
- Authentication of IBM® Tivoli Monitoring Service Console users
- Authorization of z/OS Take Action commands by NetView®
