Managing monitoring resources
After you log in to the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface
or Tivoli Enterprise Portal interface, you can manage the
monitoring resources based on your business requirements. The management includes managing the
predefined situations, configuring historical data collection, customizing predefined workspaces,
and linking to other OMEGAMON workspaces.
Managing the predefined situations
In IBM OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS , you can activate predefined situations to help you begin monitoring data quickly. Also, you can customize predefined situations to enable alerts and reflex actions.
Configuring OMEGAMON for IMS historical data collection
In addition to real-time data monitoring, you can configure historical data reporting. If you use the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface , you can configure near-term history data collections, their frequency and various other parameters associated with the collections. If you use Tivoli Enterprise Portal , you can examine data for longer periods of time in the binary data sets that OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS log data to.
Customizing OMEGAMON predefined workspaces
You can enhanced your monitoring capabilities when you use a range of monitoring solutions to customize workspace views. You can modify the predefined workspaces in the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface and Tivoli Enterprise Portal .
Navigating between workspaces of different OMEGAMON products
In the OMEGAMON enhanced 3270 user interface , you can navigate between workspaces of different OMEGAMON products by zooming. In the Tivoli Enterprise Portal you can go between products by using dynamic links that you build yourself or by using predefined links.
