Using events
The Enhanced 3270 User Interface can monitor three type of events: deadlocks, timeouts, and data set extensions.
Event exception collection is turned on when the following parameters are set in configuration:
- KD2_OMPE_DB2_EVENT: Y
- KD2_OMPE_DEADLOCK: Y
- KD2_OMPE_TIMEOUT: Y
- KD2_OMPE_DSN_EXTENT: Y
- KD2_OMPE_EXTENT_THOLD: 200
For information on parameters, see KD2_OMPE - Base Product.
Events can be accessed either for a single DB2 or for a data sharing group.
- To access events for a single DB2 subsystem, navigate to the All Active DB2 Subsystems workspace, type E (Events) next to the DB2 subsystem of interest, and press Enter.
- To access events for a data sharing group, navigate to the All Active DB2 Data Sharing Groups, type E (Events) next to the data sharing group of interest, and press Enter.
You can select what type of events you want to see and adjust the time range of the events.

The Thread ID and End User tabs are used for deadlock and timeout events filtering if you want to see only specific deadlocks/timeouts. When using these filters, data set events are not displayed.
