Updating the runtime environment with Configuration Manager

Complete this task if you are using Configuration Manager to update the runtime environment.

1. Standardize your configuration by completing the steps in Rectifying your PARMGEN configuration.
   Important: To ensure a smooth update process, you must standardize your configuration whether you are using PARMGEN or Configuration Manager to update the runtime environment, or if you are migrating from an existing PARMGEN configuration to Configuration Manager.
2. Update your SMP/E libraries.
3. If the default values for new parameters do not work or you have Classic Near-Term History and customized sequential data sets, check for 5.5.0 changes to parameter values, deprecated parameters, and new parameters.

   • New parameters
4. Run the GENERATE action.
5. For each Db2 subsystem you want to monitor, submit the BIND jobs OMBP<ssid> and OMBD<ssid> in RKD2SAM, where <ssid> is the Db2 subsystem ID. If you use EXPLAIN, submit the BIND jobs EXBP<ssid> and EXBD<ssid> for each Db2 subsystem you use EXPLAIN. For more information, see Completing the configuration.
