Tivoli Enterprise Portal
The Tivoli Enterprise Portal is a customizable user interface that runs on a workstation and offers you a single point of view for online monitoring and analysis. You can use the Tivoli Enterprise Portal to view information about your operating systems, hardware, applications (such as WebSphere®, IMS, and CICS®), and custom applications. The Tivoli Enterprise Portal can run as a browser applet or as a Java™ application. It comes with a set of predefined work spaces for each item in the navigation tree and you can customize work spaces and attributes according to your requirements. You can filter information by navigating from a top-level workspace to lower-level work spaces.
You can use the Tivoli Enterprise Portal to:
- Detect I/O related bottlenecks such as heavily used volumes
- Analyze system-wide or application-specific resource usage to tune Db2 resources or to identify applications that are performing poorly
- Locate historical information in short-term history and analyze past problems
- Configure notifications that automatically inform you about problems
- Automate problem resolution by taking automatic action when certain events are detected
- Manage problems detected by your team by using a built-in trouble ticket system or by forwarding the alert to an external event console
