Upgrading the Rule Execution Server console and execution stacks
The rolling upgrade to begins with the Rule Execution Server console and the execution stacks.
Before you begin
Note:
- Rulesets compiled with the classic rule engine do not run in Operational Decision Manager 9.6.0. You must recompile the rule projects of these rulesets with a recent decision engine in Rule Designer in a previous version of Operational Decision Manager before you deploy the rulesets back to Rule Execution Server (see Move to the decision engine).
- Decision engine runtime 1.30.x and 1.40.x are not embedded in the execution unit of Operational Decision Manager 9.6.0. Rulesets compiled with these decision engines might not run in Rule Execution Server 9.6.0. You must recompile these rulesets with a more recent decision engine in Rule Designer.
- Rulesets compiled in ODM 8.11.0 (using decision engine 1.50.x) or later, and XOMs based on Java™ 8 might work on Operational Decision Manager 9.6.0, which uses Java 21.
- IBM® WebSphere® Application Server support was removed from Operational Decision Manager 8.12.0. It is recommended that you use WebSphere Liberty (see Configuring on Liberty profile).
