Properties
You can assign values to predefined property names for the business rules you add to a rule project.
Properties contain management and execution information on business rules. They are useful to help you manage your business rules. For example, you can query business rules based on the value of a property.
You can add new properties to business rules by using rule model extensions. These rule model extensions are synchronized between Rule Designer and Decision Center. You view and edit properties in the Properties view:

The following table shows the properties:
| Property | Description |

| Active | Set to true when the rule is active. Set to false when the rule is not used. |
| Documentation | Describe the rule. |
| Effective date | Specify the date on which the rule goes into effect. |
| Expiration date | Specify the date on which the rule expires. |
| Locale | The language in which the rule is developed. |
| Name | The name of the rule. |
| Overridden rules | Overridden rules are not selected for execution. |
| Priority | Set the priority of the rule to define the order in which rules are run. |
| Status | Set the status of a rule, for example:

| Tags | Select a tag for the project element. Tags can be used to filter rules in queries. |
| Template | Use the rule as a template. |
