ODM for developers (ibm-odm-dev)
Operational Decision Manager automates the implementation of business policies of your organization by using Decision Center and Decision Server. ODM for developers (ibm-odm-dev) deploys these applications in a single container, which can be used for in-house or web-based purposes.
ODM for developers is installed by using a Helm command line interface (CLI) command. You must also use a compatible Rule Designer. The Rule Designer supports integrated co-editing and debugging of Java™ code and rules, and is necessary for the initial stages of development of your decision services. For more information, see Installing the ready-to-use Rule Designer.
ODM for developers has the following attributes:
- Accessible by anyone.
- For discovery and evaluation purposes.
- Supports an internal H2 (DBMS) or an external PostgreSQL database.
Also, it is not possible to upgrade installations of ODM for developers to ODM for production. However, projects that are developed in ODM for developers can be published to ODM for production.
The following diagram shows an installation of the ODM for developers (ibm-odm-dev) Helm chart. When a release is installed, Rule Designer can be installed on a personal computer from which you publish a decision service to Decision Center. The numbers in the diagram show the order in which tasks are done.
