Workflows that start from a PL/I include file
To run your rules in a PL/I application on z/OS®, you can generate your XOM from a PL/I include file.
When you generate a XOM from a PL/I include file, the XOM includes a Java™ XOM project. This Java XOM project provides the required Java structures for the Java objects to PL/I data conversion at run time.
The following table shows the steps that you do in Rule Designer.
| Environment | BOM methods and mapping | Orchestrate® | Author and Review | Deploy and integrate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
zRule Execution Server for z/OS |
Implement XOM methods and BOM-to-XOM mapping |
You use ruleflows to organize your rules into the sequence in which they must run, and use rule tasks to group the rules. |
You can create and maintain rule artifacts in Rule Designer or Decision Center. When you create your rule project, or if a rule project is modified, you can review it by exploring and analyzing its contents. See Reviewing a rule project. |
You deploy the RuleApps and the PL/I XOM to z/OS. You call the rules from a PL/I application (batch or CICS®). |
The following workflow shows the high-level tasks that you do, from rule project design to rule execution on z/OS.
