Reporting license usage to IBM Software Central

IBM License Service can optionally send collected license usage data directly to IBM Software Central. This enables you to view aggregated license usage across clusters in Software Central.

This feature is optional. No product data is sent to IBM Software Central unless the feature is explicitly enabled by both the product team through pod annotation, and the cluster administrator through IBMLicensing CR configuration.

License Service works by collecting license usage data from annotated workloads across all the namespaces. Only products that are explicitly opted in are included in the upload. Data is transformed into the format of Software Central and sent once per day.
