Installing updates

Download and install updates such as interim fixes and fix packs from IBM® Fix Central.

Before you begin

Before you can install any updates, you must have Installation Manager and Operational Decision Manager already installed.
Tip: If you are upgrading to a newer release, complete the upgrade by installing the updates for the newer release before migrating your data.

About this task

The following procedure describes the use of the Installation Manager wizard mode to install updates for Operational Decision Manager. Procedure

  1. Download an interim fix or a fix pack that corresponds to your product version:
    1. Go to IBM Fix Central External link opens a new window or tab.
    2. Under Find products in product selector, search for Operational Decision Manager.
    3. Select your product version and platform.
      Tip: If your operating system is Linux®, select the appropriate Linux type from the list.
    4. Browse to the download document for the update that you want, and download the update.
      A compressed file is downloaded to your workstation.
    5. Read the readme that is included in the download document. It describes the update, lists any associated APARs, and provides installation instructions.
  2. In Installation Manager, open Preferences and add the file path for the downloaded compressed file to your list of repositories, and then click OK.
  3. Click Update and select the components that you want to update.
  4. Follow the steps in Installation Manager to complete your update.
  5. For interim fixes, return to the readme in the download document, and follow the instructions in the section Does the necessary tasks after installation.
    This section of the readme lists the modified libraries, and can include instructions for repackaging and redeploying files.
